Suicide Prevention Training (4 hours) 
 
In 2022, there were 5,642 suicides registered in England and Wales, around three-quarters of males and one-quarter of females. 
 
Death by suicide can be prevented and should not be a taboo subject. The devastation caused by suicide affects families and loved ones globally. 
 
Our training is delivered in a light and sensitive approach whilst addressing the seriousness of suicide. Following our training, attendees will have a good understanding of suicide awareness and steps to take to aid prevention for themselves and others. 
 
Focus areas: 
 
Module 1 - Intro/Understanding Suicide 
overview of sensitive nature, housekeeping etc, What is suicide, who is effected (stats), causes of suicide 
 
Module 2 - Effects of Suicide 
Contagion of suicide (evidence based), stigma (myth buster/common misunderstandings) 
 
Module 3 - Methods of Suicide 
Signs and symptoms, methods (delivered sensitively) 
 
Module 4 - Prevention of Suicide 
How we can help, initiating a conversation around suicide (unhelpful language/helpful approaches), recognising when help is needed 
 
Module 5 - Hearing from victims 
Real life stories. - video/case study of a personal experience. 
 
Module 6 - Safety planning/signposting 
Local support, how to safety plan for self/others. harm reduction
