Think Mental Health Black Tie Ball Awards celebrate excellence in suicide prevention across the Humber region and beyond.

The Think Mental Health Black Tie Ball Awards celebrated excellence in suicide prevention this weekend in Hull and the Humber Region. The event was held to honour businesses and individuals who have made a significant impact in the field of suicide prevention and mental health awarness. All proceeds from the event each year are to be donated to ANDYSMANCLUB who are a men’s suicide prevention charity, offering free-to-attend peer-to-peer support groups across the United Kingdom and online. Who want to end the stigma surrounding men’s mental health and help men through the power of conversation. #ITSOKAYTOTALK

Suicide is a preventable tragedy that claims too many lives each year. In an effort to raise mental health awareness and promote suicide prevention, Jeni Cornwall, Paul Longley and Leon McQuade launched The Think Mental Health Black Tie Ball. The awards are free to enter, and they recognise individuals and businesses that are making a difference in the fight against suicide prevention. By shining a spotlight on the work of these unsung heroes, the awards are helping to change the conversation around suicide prevention and mental health within our region.

This year's awards ceremony was a great success, and we are looking forward to seeing even more innovation and progress in the field of mental health in the years to come. Thanks to everyone who helped make this night possible!

Airco - Think Mental Health Black Tie Ball Catalyst Award 2022

Leon McQuade said "Airco has supported me from the very beginning when I had the idea to bring AMC back into Hull. They have helped provide a safe space for men to come and talk about their emotions before they get of hand. In the early days, we went from 6 to 84 attendees, with Airco always going above and beyond to support us.

From Paul and me setting alarms off and having to ring directors out of hours to breaking coffee machines due to the huge numbers who once attended. Airco was once Hull's only venue, to think we now have 7 across the area without Aircos amazing support in the early days this may not have been the case. Again a Global pandemic could stop us, with Airco again pivotal through in helping AMC bring back face-to-face meetings, allowing Hull to be the first club to test processes and procedures and ultimately reopen. We can't thank you enough! "
